Pick Up Lines or Craiglist Words
Ah, the famous pickup lines, you know, the ones usually guys try to tell you to hook up with you. Admit it. We hate the intention but, at times, love the extra attention. Like today I was jogging, and this guy started racing next to me right at the same pace right at the same step, and he shot his shot. "You ran in my heart, and I had to catch up" Cheesy creative but creepy. I smiled at him and turned the corner, and then it came to me? What other guys have said to me.
Back raised by catholic parents, they always mentioned to date a nice catho looking freaking guy, however, that was never really going to happen after all. I'm what they call attractive, and at school, is where it first happened after school while speaking to my teacher's aid he said the creepiest thing.
Can I follow you home? 'Cause my parents always told me to follow my dreams."
... I'm sure he meant it as a tasteless joke, at least I hope he was 20, and I was 16. It was mega creepy that my teacher's aide thought this line would work. I asked my mom to uber me home that day.
Or the time when I was on the train, and a guy complimented my untied shoes, "I can tie you up" and pointed at my shoes. I come to realized that guys don't think before they speak and when they do they can't seem to word proper pickup compliments or "lines."
I always imagined guys looking at their mirror, shaking up their eyebrows up and down, changing voices like haha, you will "fall in love with me tonight" and practicing those sweet lines, you know the ones that go like...
- "Am I dead, Angel? 'Cause this must be Heaven."
- "Do you believe in love at first sight or should I walk by again?"
- "I hope you know CPR because you are taking my breath away."
and my favorite
"Feel my shirt. Know what it's made of? Boyfriend material"
Then after smirking, thinking that those Craiglist words will work, and sometimes they may, but probably not before you have already had an already established bond with the girl. See, we do like cute rhymes, cute guys fun lines, but we mostly love creative minds. Remember, guys, the best things you can say to a girl are mentioning the little details you noticed about her "oh your dress has pockets," "Your hair looks great, "goes a long way. Notice her in a noncreepy way first and then she will see you in a more manly fashion, and gals don't fall for easy cheesiness that guys learn online. Fall for original creativity. It's out there, trust me. - Jessica
