Leave it to Eli Roth to make ice cream feel terrifying.

On Saturday, July 18, Irv's Burgers on La Brea looked less like a classic Los Angeles burger stand and more like the setting of a horror movie. The legendary burger spot transformed into the home of I-SCREAM Day, a one-day carnival celebrating Roth's upcoming horror film, Ice Cream Man. Between free ice cream, carnival games, horror-themed photo opportunities, exclusive merchandise, and a surprise appearance from Roth himself, fans showed up ready for a day that blended summer fun with just the right amount of nightmare fuel.

People who are actors pose with ice cream mascots on a red carpet at an outdoor event, smiling before a branded backdrop.

The event served as the official launch of a limited-time collaboration between Ice Cream Man and Irv's Burgers, proving that promoting a horror movie doesn't always have to happen inside a theater. Sometimes, all it takes is a burger, a shake, and an unsettling smile from the neighborhood ice cream man.

Before the event officially began, I got a behind-the-scenes look as local producer Iunia Dinu directed local talent for the event's signature activation, setting the stage for an unforgettable experience.

As for Ice Cream Man, the film is scheduled to be released in U.S. theaters on August 7, 2026
